Sundo (Kouksundo, Bakdolbup) is a breathing practice for the holistic development of body, heart-mind, and spirit.
It is rooted in ancient Korean history and has been handed down from master to disciple in the deep mountains for centuries. The modern practice of Sundo was introduced to the world in 1967 by Grandmaster Chung-San to benefit humanity in these challenging times.
Its practice consists of a mindful combination of deep breathing, stretching, somatic exercises, and meditation. These elements are seamlessly integrated, creating a comprehensive practice designed to promote total well-being and help individuals navigate the complexities of modern life.
The essence of Sundo lies in cultivating "Ki" (also known as Qi, Chi or prana, the life force) through a distinctive breathing method centered on the "Danjun," the energy hub in our lower abdomen. The practice involves a sequence of postures and somatic stretches, facilitating a connection with the universal life force through Danjun-focused breathing.
Often referred to as 'the immortal way,' this ancient practice holds timeless wisdom and profound benefits for contemporary living. Through Sundo, practitioners can finally experience deep relaxation of body and mind, and will be able to develop a vitalizing energy source within their powerhouse.
This winter, embrace the oldest yet most revitalizing Korean breathing practice and discover its transformative power!
The Sundo (Bakdol Kuksundo) Ki breathing method helps with:
- Rejuvenating and transforming the body and mind
- Increasing vitality, flexibility, and strength of body and mind
- Achieving a solid balance of body and mind

Breathe... she does it, he does it. Breathing connects us all - a universal rhythm shared by every living being. It begins with life and ends with life. It's with you here, now. Breathe... let's get to the point.
