What we’re about
This is a group devoted to celebrate the wonders of Balkan music and culture.
Organizers:
I’m Ellenit, and I’m originally from Mexico. Balkan music is my life, and it’s a mystery to me how it hasn't taken over the world (yet). I live and breathe this music, pouring my heart into dancing and singing these songs. This passion was sparked by belly dancing, and it’s flourished into the nurturing of this group. I’m looking forward to sharing fun and unforgettable moments with other enthusiasts of Balkan music!
Follow my Instagram account where I post impressions of the events we go to:

My Balkan playlist:
700 old and modern Balkan songs
I’m Aldin. I was born in Yugoslavia (the part now called Bosnia) and grew up in Berlin. I have a deep appreciation for Balkan cultures and languages, and I love sharing this passion with others.
In my spare time, when I'm not hosting events for our "Balkan Sounds and Culture" group or philosophy group, I enjoy staying active with various sports, including yoga, gym workouts, running, and swimming.
I look forward to meeting you and celebrating the rich heritage of the Balkans together!

Hey Balkaneros!
The summer break is over and the live-music evenings come back to Sljiva!
This is the perfect opportunity to connect with fun people while having delicious food and listening to live Balkan folk music.
First-time attendees often say things like, “How did I not know about this?” and “This is such a unique experience in Berlin!” So, if you haven’t been to Šljiva yet, you’re definitely missing out.Check out Šljiva's Instagram for some impressions.
There will be a fee of 8 euros to participate in the event. Please send it through PayPal to ellenit.hernandez@gmail.com after you sign up. There are only six spots, so I'll only reserve your spot when you sign up AND send the money.
This is meant to prevent last-minute cancellations. The money will go to the musicians.See you!
