Green Mount Cemetery Photo Walk
Details
You're invited to a unique PhotoWalk adventure at the historic Green Mount Cemetery on Saturday, October 31st!
Green Mount is one of Baltimore’s most beautiful and historically significant sites—a stunning example of the 19th-century rural garden cemetery movement, featuring gorgeous sculptures, ornate architecture, and peaceful, winding paths.
It is the final resting place of some of Maryland's most notable (and infamous!) figures, including philanthropists Johns Hopkins and Enoch Pratt, poet Sidney Lanier, and the notorious John Wilkes Booth. The blend of natural beauty and historical monuments provides incredible photographic opportunities.
### The Significance of the Date
This PhotoWalk is intentionally scheduled for October 31st. Many interesting folks have visited that day, making it a perfect, reflective, and atmospheric weekend to appreciate the cemetery's history and solemn beauty.
### Event Details
- Date: Saturday, October 31st
- Time: 10:00 AM (Meet promptly at the main entrance)
- Location: Green Mount Cemetery (1501 Greenmount Ave, Baltimore, MD 21202)
### Visiting Instructions
- Make Sure you stop by the office when you visit and sign in. Note: do not mention the group. I applied for a group visit, and I’m still waiting for notification. It’s not a big deal, but until I get word, we are all just visiting like anyone else. If we’re going to have more than 10 people, it would matter more.
- On the day of the visit, for those who come after 10, I’ll be sharing my live location from Google Maps in the live chat
### Optional Lunch Meetup
For those interested in grabbing lunch and comparing shots afterward or telling Ghost Stories, we'll head over to Guilford Hall Brewery (1611 Guilford Ave). They have a fantastic menu with German-inspired fare, like the Guilford Giant Pretzel and various schnitzel and sandwich options.
Tips
Any Camera will do or just use your Smartphone.
