"Apps Are Not The Answer"

Justin Elszasz (http://twitter.com/thetrainingset), curator of the website The Training Set (http://www.thetrainingset.com/), will discuss his approach to using city open data as a means of dialogue rather than an opportunity for technology development.

His work at The Training Set has engaged city officials and journalists in order to address policy, problem-solving, and decision-making. Justin will share examples of his work, as well as some reminders of the principles that should guide problem-solving, applied science, and engineering.

Smarter Schools Transit Challenge Update

For those interested in improving transit for Baltimore City Public School students, particularly those who participated in January's Smarter Schools Challenge: Transit hackathon, leaders from BCPS will be on hand to answer questions about data made available to support this effort.

This conversation will take place at the conclusion of the conversation led by Justin Elszasz, at approximately 7:45pm.
