This one-hour specialty workshop is designed for advanced beginner and intermediate bachata dancers who are ready to add precision, confidence, and style to their dancing through the Madrid Step (also known as the Lateral Step).Hereâs what weâll cover:
â Learn the foundation â Understand the core technique and footwork for both leads and follows. Learn how to initiate, respond, and flow through the Madrid Step with control and confidence.
â Partner connection â This is a partner work-focused workshop (rotating partners encouraged). Youâll practice lead/follow dynamics to help execute the step in social dancing.
â Explore variations â Weâll start with the basic Madrid/Lateral Step and level up with two additional stylistic variations, giving you options for different songs, energies, and stylesâfrom traditional to sensual to urban bachata.
â Why it matters â The Madrid Step is a must-know intermediate move that shows up across styles of bachata.
