What Makes a Good Host: The Art and Science of Choosing a Website Platform in an AI Future
We are bringing back our tech talks. This next session with be with Kate Kight
Who is Kate:
Kate is a creative technologist who believes in the power of design to solve problems and bring people together. From national brand identities to customized CRMs for local nonprofits, Kate creates scalable solutions designed to look good and do good.
What to expect:
A few years ago, it was almost impossible to believe the era of drag-and-drop websites would ever come to an end. But as major platforms wall in their tech stacks, hike prices, and cram in AI features to justify the cost, it’s time to explore alternatives. While AI can't replace human strategy, it can unlock cheaper, more scalable web hosting options with fewer tradeoffs.
Drawing on her expertise in crafting scrappy solutions for growing startups, Kate will share hands-on frameworks for selecting the right website builder, knowing when to hire a specialist (and whether you need a designer, developer, or business strategist), and scaling sustainably. You’ll walk away with actionable tools to avoid tech debt and build a digital foundation that grows with your business.
