Big data search with Solr and Cassandra

Hi Everyone,

Lets meetup and discuss how can we combine Solr and Cassandra to provide search on large amounts of data at reasonable TCO. We will primarily focus on time series data but the concept discussed can be applied to other types of data as well.

Agenda:

• Motivation and quick overview of SolrCloud

• Modelling time series data in Solr

• Modelling time series data in Cassandra

• Partitioning and data management strategies to provide terabyte scale search on reasonable hardware

• Open discussions

We will have presentation/talks from 10:30 to 1:00 PM. After this we will have hands-on sessions from 2:00 to 4:00 for folks who wants to try out these things.
