Description: Vivaldi is a decentralized algorithm which predicts round trip times between nodes in the cluster by assigning co-ordinates to each node. A modified version of Vivaldi is used in Hashicorp's Serf and the Vuze BitTorrent client.
Talk will cover:
-
How the algorithm works.
-
Highlight Features of Elixir/OTP such as the actor model, process discovery and pattern matching which helps prototype the algorithm quickly.
