What we’re about
Being the silicon valley of India, Bangalore has a lot of global citizens on short trips or transits or even based here for long period. This group is a platform for people from around the world to meet and socialise with each other. It also makes it easy for expats and locals to meet each other and explore Bangalore and surroundings together.
Global citizen is not necessarily only expats in India, but anyone who likes to travel, meet people from around the world, learn about cultures and grow into a global citizen. Infact, considering the diversity within India, the group works well even for Indians from different parts of India now based in Bangalore.
We organise social gatherings on weekdays after work and weekends. Our events are planned keeping in mind people with different interests. Our activities range include wine & dine, day trips, sports activities, outdoor activities, etc.
When sending a membership request, we request you to add a brief introduction like what do you do, where you from, what brings you to this group, etc. We also appreciate if you have a profile picture added. Any request with insufficient information or inappropriate profile pictures would be declined.
When RSVPing for the events, please be considerate as the organisers need to make arrangements based on the number of people confirmed. Members who RSVP but don't show up at events will be removed from the group.
We organise events, so that people get to connect in person and meet new people in real world. So, please avoid sending messages to other members whom you haven't met yet. If the organisers are reported of such messages being sent out, the member would be removed from the group.
