WiMLDS is collaborating with Women in Data Science (WiDS) global Initiative led by Stanford University. WiMLDS is hosting a datathon workshop to support the WiDS global datathon challenge on social impact. This year’s datathon, will focus on models to determine whether a patient admitted to an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) has been diagnosed with a particular type of diabetes.

In support of the global Datathon, WiMLDS Bengaluru is hosting a datathon workshop to help the participants hone required data science skillsets and participate effectively. Kaggle grandmaster will be taking sessions in this workshop and provide customized guidance to participants to ace this datathon challenge successfully. The datathon workshop will cover the nuances of navigating Kaggle platform effectively, data processing, model development, testing and submitting the winning solution. Speaker bio:

Usha Rengaraju: Usha is World’s first women 2x Kaggle Grandmaster and she is ranked as top ten Data Scientists in India for the year 2020 by Analytics India Magazine.

She is a polymath and has strong domain knowledge across multiple domains like Quantitative Finance , Marketing and Genomics to name a few. She specializes in Probabilistic graphical models. She organized NeuroAI which is India’s first-ever research symposium in the interface of Neuroscience and Data Science. She is a strong advocate of Neurodiversity at Workplace and is the organizer of Neurodiversity India Summit. She has prepared curriculum for BITS Pilani’s online masters in Data Science program (consumed by 20,000+ students ) and Upgrad’s PGP program in DS(consumed by 10,000+ students) .

Dr. Pooja Rajdev:
Dr. Pooja Rajdev is a Director at Optum Advisory Services, part of UnitedHealth Group, working closely with healthcare clients to solve business challenges using analytics and machine learning techniques.
She comes with 15 years of experience in the healthcare space with nine years in consulting and another six years as a scientific researcher. She specializes in strategic transformations of data usage, innovation and automation to accelerate research advances and allow organizations to meet the demands of the changing healthcare landscape.
By education, she is a B.Tech from IIT-Delhi and received her Ph.D. from Purdue University
