Dear art lovers!

My name is Milana Prikhodko, I am a master art student in Intercultural Practices at the University of the Arts London. Next Sunday, on April 12, I invite you to join me for my graduation performance called 'Every tree is a sacred tree'. The event will take place in Bangkok, Thailand, where I currently reside, at 4 pm, near Benjasiri Park (BTS Phrom Phong), and will later move to the Vedana Wellbeing space. Participation is absolutely free. Please come and bring your friends and family.

My project is a practical exploration of trees and their interactions with humans and more-than-humans. In particular, I am intrigued by the role of trees in spirituality and sacral practices.
What makes a tree 'deserving' to be worshipped, and thus, preserved? For sure, the answer will be different - from culture to culture, from time to time - but it will rarely occur from the trees themselves. Humans are always the ones who decide - but should we? It is one of the questions that I would propose to explore.

The participants will be encouraged to dedicate a few hours to building a stronger connection with various trees around them. We will start from around an hour of Tree Walk, where we will get to know more about the trees of Bangkok and some local traditions associated with them.

Later, we will arrive at the Vedana Wellbeing Space, where I will facilitate an artistic performance ritual aimed at the protection of a young tree. We will meditate, make some noise, connect with nature, drink turmeric tea, and make some magic. At the end, participants will be able to place a ribbon on the tree and make a wish.

The event will be in English, and the meeting point is near Benchasiri Park. Please come 5-10 minutes in advance, because at 4 pm we will start moving. Don't forget hats, sunscreen, comfortable shoes, and water. If you feel like it, you can also take notebooks for notes and sketches.
Please repost to anyone who could be interested!
