Polish Zubrowka vodka cocktail, Polish Szarlotka apple pie, and Poland's "Ida"
Details
Polish Zubrowka vodka cocktail, Polish Szarlotka apple pie, and Poland's Oscar-winner as the Best Foreign Language Film of the Year, "Ida", all for only 250 baht. What a bargain! It's all courtesy of the Embassy of Poland in Bangkok and it's happening at the Foreign Correspondents' Club of Thailand (FCCT) on Monday, May 11, at 6:30 pm. We will be joining 20 members of the Bangkok Coffee and Movie Meetup Group for this very special event.
A young novitiate nun in 1960s Poland who, on the verge of taking her vows, discovers a dark family secret dating from the terrible years of the Nazi occupation. 18-year old Anna, a sheltered orphan raised in a convent, is preparing to become a nun when the Mother Superior insists she first visit her sole living relative. Naive, innocent Anna soon finds herself in the presence of her aunt Wanda, a worldly and cynical Communist Party insider, who shocks her with the declaration that her real name is Ida and her Jewish parents were murdered during the Nazi occupation. This revelation triggers a heart-wrenching journey into the countryside, to the family house and into the secrets of the repressed past, evoking the haunting legacy of the Holocaust and the realities of postwar Communism.

Directions to the Foreign Correspondents' Club of Thailand
The easiest way to get there is by Skytrain.
Take the Skytrain to the Chitlom (or Chit Lom) station. While in the station, take Exit 2 by walking in the opposite direction from the Central Chitlom Department store to the first exit on the left. The Skybridge connects to the Maneeya Center, a two-building complex.
Walk straight back to the rear of the first building. Take a down elevator to the ground floor and walk a few feet to the elevator bank for the rear building. In those elevators, press the "P" button for the Penthouse. If you are "lost" call 02-652-0580-1.
Validated parking is available in the building's enclosed car park after 5:00 pm.
If you're not familiar with the Skytrain system, Maneeya Center is between (about 1-2 blocks from each) Central World and Central Chitlom Department Store.
