Uthai Thani Day Trip - Big tree and hidden forest temple

On this Sunday we will do a car pooling one-day trip to Uthai Thani province, 3 hours north of Bangkok. As it is the countryside, there is so much of natural and cultural things to explore here ! Nature and culture immersion is our theme besides cafe hopping, social networking and language exchange. Our vehicle is already half-filled with friends and we are looking for more positive vibes people!

Schedule:

#### 07:00 – Depart Bangkok

• We will depart in an air-conditioned van or sedan car from pickup point near Asok, Nana or Ploenchit BTS (depending on number of persons).

#### 10:00 – Arrive at Giant Raintree

• Huge 350+ year-old rain tree.
• The circumference of its trunk is about 97 meters. (If measured by spreading arms, you would need around 40 people!)

#### 10:30 – Local farmers’ market (ตลาดเกษตรกรบ้านไร่)

• Short drive (~5 min).
• A one-of-a-kind farmer's market only open on weekends and set in a forest setting with local & organic produce, coffee, snacks, fruits, and handicrafts. Even live music.
• Painting stalls, tie dye stalls, craft stalls, plant stalls (mini plants, bonsai, succulents, orchids).
• Good chance to grab some regional specialties.

#### 11:30 – Hidden forest temple

• About 15 min from the market.
• Temple complex made entirely of teak wood and surrounded by limestone hills, caves and ponds — mystical and yet very postcard picturesque and peaceful.
• We will spend about 1 hour to explore and take in the sights and sounds of the forest temple.

#### 12:45 – Lunch at nearby scenic cafe/restaurant

Scenic cafe/restaurant, with good food, drinks (matcha, coffee) and cakes.

#### 13:45 – Other places of interest (optional)

• Other cafes or places of interest if time permits

#### 15:00 – Depart Uthai Thani for Bangkok

At around 3pm or later, we will head back to Bangkok in the afternoon and expect to reach by 6pm or later.
(The itinerary may be subject to change depending on weather and traffic conditions.)

1. Admission fee: 850 Baht.
It covers the cost of car and driver rental, transportation round trip from Bangkok, fuel, toll, parking, admin (meetup) expenses etc.
Not include:
- Meals at Thai restaurants or cafes
- Entry ticket for attractions (if any)
- Insurance
- Personal expenses
2. Please don't be late, we can only provide 5 min grace period ;) !
Please dress modestly for the temple !
3. As seats are limited, please RSVP & pay within 8 hours to reserve your seats (How to pay: Message the organiser here - please check your message box as Meetup does not send notifications. After payment, please send the confirmation slip.) If payment is not made, we'll move you to the waitlist or ‘not going’ list so as not to take up the limited seats.
- No refund: If you cancel 5 days before the event, we can only refund you when we find a new participant for the replacement.
4. This is a vegetarian/vegan friendly trip.
