Urban Hike 62: Samyan to Siam

Details
Sawasdee Pee Mai!
We hope you had a wonderful Songkran holiday and we are back with another hike for April!
This 7km hike merges 3 of our favorite temple walks that we discovered on our adventures around the city during COVID. You'll be amazed at all the cute neighborhoods we found - right in the middle of the city! We'll start at Samyan MRT station and walk all the way to Siam BTS station.
We will meet at Samyan MRT Station, Exit 1, Wat Hua Lamphong exit (at the top of the stairs) at 7:55, departing at 8am.
For our new hikers: This is just a walk - not a tour. We won’t be stopping at local landmarks, but you’re welcome to leave the group and explore on your own if we walk by something you’d like to see.
For Bangkok locals: this is a great way to get out and explore different parts of the city - and meet other urban explorers!
We'll start at 8am and walk for about 90mins, ending at Siam (or National Stadium, if you prefer) around 9:30. There are tons of spots in the area for a Sunday brunch if you're hungry after the hike!
Check out the map to see where we'll hike!
We will be walking quickly (well, as quickly as the size of our group allows), so please be prepared for as much of an "outdoor adventure" as we can manage on the busy streets of Bangkok! We will walk for about 90 mins (finishing around 9:30am), so there's no plans for a rest break, but as you can expect, we'll pass plenty of 7-11's and Family Marts if you need to stop in for an emergency drink.
PLEASE NOTE: since the COVID-19 regulations have changed here in Thailand, we're not requiring hikers to wear masks. However, we recommend that you have them & wear them when we're in crowded locations, in line with local culture.
UPDATE YOUR RSVP: As usual, we have limited our numbers for this hike. We do this to make it more manageable to navigate with all of you. Please make sure that you will actually join us before RSVP-ing for this hike. And, of course, please update your RSVP if your plans change. We often have large numbers RSVP and not everyone shows up. Hopefully this will help us make better connections when we're hiking together too!
HOW THE WAITLIST WORKS: The waitlist will automatically move you up to “attending” if enough people cancel. This is why it’s important to change your attendance to “no” if you decide not to join after responding “yes”. This allows people on the waitlist to be bumped up in the order that they joined. Thank you!
RAIN: As always, if there is a light morning rain we will still walk, if it is a Monsoon chucking-it-down, flooding kind-of rain, we will cancel the hike.
If you haven't joined us yet please do! This is a great way to chat, take photos, and get to know one another. If you want to explore places more thoroughly along the way (or pick up some water, or stop for the toilet), feel free to stop your hike and explore - catching up with us later or meeting us at a later point on the map.
