“How to Be an Antiracist” by Ibram X Kendi

Details

For our first meeting, we’ll be discussing “How to Be an Antiracist” by Ibram X. Kendi. This book was specifically mentioned, along with a few others, in the recent proposal to ban Critical Race Theory from the Mead School District, as well as materials on gender studies from elementary schools in the district.

For this book club, we’ll move around to different libraries in Spokane County, visiting both Spokane County Library District libraries and Spokane Public Library locations. However, if we decide that we want to meet in one specific location, or want to try other locations outside of libraries, we can do that as well.

At this time, this book club is for adults living in and around Spokane County. Please do not bring children under the age of 18.

You don’t need to bring anything to our meetings—just bring your thoughts about the book!

Hope to see lots of you at this first meeting!
