Memoir Mapping: One Tiny Moment, Big Discovery
Details
In this month’s memoir session, we’re slowing things way down—in a good way.
We’ll start with one small, clear sentence about a real moment from your life, the kind you can picture like a freeze‑frame. Then we’ll gently stretch it, step by step, to see what details, feelings, and surprises are hiding inside it. You’ll get simple prompts, examples, and short writing activities to guide you; you’re never left staring at a blank page.
This is a participant‑centered, low‑pressure group. Some people write new scenes, some rediscover old memories, and some mostly listen and soak it in. Sharing is always optional. You’re welcome, whether you’ve been writing for years or you’re just starting to wonder if you might have a story in you.
Date: Tuesday, March 4 Time: 1:30–3:30 p.m. Location: Carnegie‑Schadde Memorial Public Library Room: Sauey Community Room (lower level; elevator available) Cost: Free Capacity: 12 participants
RSVP: Here on Meetup, on Facebook, or by emailing baraboowritersblast@gmail.com.
Come with a tiny moment in mind if you’d like—but if nothing comes to you, bring yourself. We’ll find one together.
