About us

We are a Barcelona-based cultural group dedicated to hands-on art workshops and cultural experiences rooted in Latin American and Andean traditions.

Our activities are hosted by La Chakana, a cultural space that opens its doors as a place for encounter, experimentation, and the sharing of knowledge. We organize workshops focused on manual and artistic practices such as ceramics, cyanotype, textile arts, jewelry-making, music, and other traditional and contemporary craft techniques.

This group is for people who are curious about creative processes, interested in cultural exchange, and eager to learn through doing. Our workshops are designed to be accessible and welcoming—no previous experience is required, just curiosity and a desire to explore materials, images, sound, and collective creation.

Whether you are a local resident or visiting Barcelona, you are welcome to join us to connect with art, culture, and community in a meaningful and hands-on way.

Botanical & Photographic Cyanotype Workshop
From La Chakana, we open our space to new learning experiences conceived as places for encounter, experimentation, and the circulation of knowledge. We are especially excited to share this workshop, as cyanotype is a sensitive and inspiring technique that connects image, matter, and light in a direct and poetic way.
Cyanotype is an artisanal photographic printing process characterized by its deep blue tones. Through the action of ultraviolet light on a photosensitive solution, unique compositions can be created using botanical elements, objects, or photographic images.
In this workshop, we will explore cyanotype as an artistic and experimental practice. Participants will learn how to prepare the chemical solution, choose and treat different supports, and create compositions combining natural forms, everyday materials, or photographic images—engaging both the technical and creative aspects of the process.
This is a hands-on and accessible introduction to the technique. No prior experience in photography or printmaking is required—only curiosity, a desire to create, and an openness to sharing the process collectively.
A space to explore the relationship between image, light, and matter, and to experiment with a historical technique from a contemporary and personal perspective.
