Murnau directed a true masterpiece of German Expressionism and one of the first horror films in cinematic history... The plot follows the sinister Count Orlok, a vampire who spreads terror in a small town as he seeks new victims. The film’s eerie atmosphere is built through the play of light and shadow, haunting landscapes, and the hypnotic portrayal of Nosferatu by Max Schreck. Despite disputes with an estate of «Dracula’s» creator Bram Stoker, the film became a cult classic and laid the foundation for the visual language of the genre
