Workshop: Chatting with Rails 5

Rails 5.beta2 was just released and the final release might happen before the end of the month. For this meetup David Vrensk from SeQura is going to introduce ActionCable, the new framework-in-the-framework that lets us use WebSockets, and everybody will get to try it out with a small exercise!

Schedule:

• 19h00: Say hi to everybody, grab a beer and a seat

• 19h05: Intro to websockets and ActionCable

• 19h35: Presenting the exercise

• 19h50: Work in pairs or groups

• 20h45: Show off your solutions

Please bring a laptop with the following:

• Rails 5.beta2 (which needs Ruby 2.2.2 or later)

• Postgres

• git

• A "neutral" editor like Sublime Text so that you can work with people who do not use the One True Editor

Bring a computer if you can. Come even if you can't!
