Coding dojo: Bank OCR kata

Details

It's time for some group coding practise! We welcome Ruby neophytes as well as veterans. Tonight we are going to work on the classic Bank OCR kata which lets us practice string manipulation, simple math, algorithm design, and testability.

Agenda:

• 19h05 David Vrensk from SeQura introduces the Bank OCR kata and the dojo format

• 19h20 Part I: Work in pairs

• 20h30 Grab pizza!

• 20h40 Part II: Discuss challenges, solutions and learnings (while eating pizza)

During the first part of the evening we will program in pairs and need at least one computer per two participants. Please bring a laptop with Ruby if you have one! It's even better if it has a neutral editor like Sublime Text or Atom.

During the second part, we will share what we have learned.

You should download this repo before coming: https://github.com/dvrensk/bank_ocr_kata. Don't wait until you get to the meetup since Xing's guest network is not 100 % reliable.

Note that the introductory presentation will start at 19h05, 10 minutes earlier than usual. Note also that the pizza might be substituted with other finger food.
