In this presentation, you will get up to speed with PostgreSQL 17’s latest features: enhanced logical replication, the efficient StreamIO for smoother file access, and new incremental backup options for reliable disaster recovery. Extension developers will also gain insights into improved Dynamic Shared Memory management, opening up fresh possibilities for resource allocation and memory handling.

7:20 - 7:40 pm: Postgres and Vector Databases by Dave Pitts
In this lightning talk, we’ll explore why pgvector is a great tool for many AI and machine learning projects. We’ll also briefly discuss other open-source options, each with its own strengths and weaknesses, and invite the audience to share their experiences. This is an exciting new area, with lots of potential for improvement!
