Barcelona Role Playing Games (RPGs) Meetup (in English)

THE RPG EVENT

We are pleased to announce the ninth RPG event of the Barcelona Roleplaying Community, where we'll have 10 tables with totally different and unique games. Everyone is welcome to join, from experts to first-time players; no experience is needed or knowledge about the system.
We will play in ENGLISH.
The cost of participation is 8 EURO, which you will pay at the entrance.

THE ADVENTURE: Age of Umbra: Evrados' Lament
GAME MASTER: Ella Hazel
SYSTEM: Daggerheart
DESCRIPTION: A century after the God-King’s betrayal cursed the Halcyon Domain, survival clings to the light of Sacred Pyres. When Evrados, huntmaster of Okros, was dragged into the depths of the Shalk Chasm, his loss was mourned—until his voice returned, screaming from the darkness beyond the Pyre’s reach. Those who rushed to save him vanished, their cries now echoing alongside his: haunting, terror-filled, and mocking the community with every passing moment. Bound by their own debts, loyalties, and secrets, the party descends into a forgotten temple of a Veiled God, the community’s last hope to bring Evrados and his men back. Each step away from the light of the Sacred Pyre brims with peril, corruption, and paranoia. Working together, can the party uncover what has happened, bring Evrados and his men home, and survive the horrors that await?

Tone and safety: RP focused, grim, psychological horror, body horror, paranoia, gore, death and darkness.

PLACE: We will play at the ARCHIVO ARCANO. Please, wait next to the entrance where you will be welcomed and guided by one of the organizers.
DRINKS & FOOD: You can purchase drinks at the place, but you are NOT ALLOWED to bring them from outside. You CAN bring your own food. You even should do that ;). If you don't do that there will be an option to buy some snacks at the place or get a sandwich in the restaurant nearby.

IF YOU HAVEN'T JOINED THE GAME IN TIME
At the moment, there is no waiting list. If a player drops out, we will reopen the event and announce it on Discord (and possibly on Meetup).
Players who arrive more than 15 minutes late will automatically forfeit their spot, which will then be offered to people waiting at the venue.
If you decide to show up without a reserved place, you may still be able to join a table if a spot becomes available.

THE ADVENTURE: Pokémon Rescue Ranch
GAME MASTER: Luiz
SYSTEM: Melody of a Never-ending Summer
DESCRIPTION: Every Summer, Wild Moon Ranch (located a short walk away from the idyllic Blossom Village) welcomes a group of teens who will spend a life-defining couple of months exploring nature, helping rehabilitate wild creatures in need, and getting to know the locals and each other. It's a Summer they'll never forget.

This is a cozy GMless game where we'll use cards to help us structure our teenage characters' Summer, filling with memorable moments. The vibe is Stardew Valley meets the non-fighting parts of Pokémon. I'll be bringing a big stack of Pokémon TCG cards that we will draw from to determine what creatures our characters will meet and help, and the game also has tools to create original mons from scratch.

TONE AND SAFETY: cozy, generally lighthearted and optimistic as a baseline. We'll also have a conversation beforehand about what we do or don't want to see in our story, and the X-card will be available as well.

THE ADVENTURE: Cultural Exchange

SYSTEM: High School Cthulhu (Director’s Cut system)
DESCRIPTION: It is the Nineties; your character is a student from Innsmouth and something dark and terrifying is about to take their life by storm. Delve into the world of adolescence marked by cosmic horror, where the supernatural melds with the formative years of youth and the bright colours of the last decade of the twentieth century.

TRIGGER WARNING: this game contains teenage life (drugs, sex, alcohol, trauma), generational conflict, cosmic horror, broken hearts, skateboarding, violence, and insanity. While the tone is jovial and the fun is in playing caricatures of teens from 90s dramas, there are some subjects that can potentially be upsetting. The X-card will be available during play.

THE ADVENTURE: The Real Folk Blues

SYSTEM: Orbital Blues by Soul Muppet Publishing
DESCRIPTION: You're gonna carry that weight… Join the crew of the Van Halen as they attempt to deliver risky cargo to a mining colony filled with grifters, drifters and hipsters. Saddle up space cowboys for a music-fuelled one-shot that juggles gambits, blues and tight-knit crews. 3, 2, 1… Let's jam! Orbital Blues a lo-fi space western roleplaying game. A roleplaying love-letter to off-beat sci-fi, vintage music, and cooperative old-school styled roleplay, Orbital Blues allows you to play out rules-light tabletop adventures in the style of space westerns such as Cowboy Bebop, Firefly and Guardians of the Galaxy. We'll play a short one-shot with pre-gen characters, all reflecting an archetypal spaceship crew, from The Mechanic to The Heartbreaker. Players will be encouraged to roleplay and think about music and troubles for their character to explore as we jam. The X-Card system and safeguarding will be in place, but this is a bluesy, trouble-filled rpg, so be aware! Easy come, easy go.
