Future of UX research and design with AI-powered technology

Details
Hi folks!
We are excited to announce our upcoming meetup, which features two thought-provoking talks from three Microsoft UX professionals, diving into how AI is reshaping our discipline — from the future of UX research to the design of AI-powered interfaces.
“Redefining UX Research in the Age of AI” - From Ciera Crowell
Will AI replace us? It’s the question hanging over every researcher’s head—and it’s time we addressed it. This session takes a grounded look at the fears surrounding AI’s impact on UX research, separating hype from reality. We’ll explore the data, the discourse, and the opportunities AI presents—not as a threat, but as a tool to elevate our practice. As AI reshapes interaction design, UX research becomes more vital than ever.
“Talking isn’t doing — AI interfaces beyond chat” - From Philipp Steinacher and Max Meijer
This presentation explores why and how we need to move beyond conversational AI interactions. It’s a look at the friction users face with chat-based interfaces—from unclear affordances to inconsistent behavior—and how we might design better tools that make LLMs more usable, reliable, and task-oriented.
As always, the event will be hosted at Barcelona Technology School and will be held in English.
