Audio recording and playback complexity across browsers

Recording voice messages is easy in web browsers but sending them is often complex because of 3rd party format restrictions and different browsers recording in different formats. It's enticing to think that the conversion of audio files could be done on the client side due to less server processing.
In this talk I'll take you through our journey of implementing this pure frontend solution for recording, converting, and sending voice recordings in Manychat's platform.

In this speech, I'll explore the differences between refactoring, rewriting, and re-engineering code and why understanding these distinctions is crucial in an engineer's day-to-day work. Using real-world examples, we'll examine situations where "things didn't go as planned" during the refactoring, rewriting, and re-engineering, and I'll share my experience on how to handle these challenges. Additionally, we'll discuss some approaches that can be applied to each of these methods for modifying codebases.
