Dare to test your Prod on CI ? Check Testcontainers ( Physical Event )

Details
Eyyyyyy devs !!!!!
We are back on the road, and we are glad to present to you our first PHYSICAL event since March 2020.
NOTE : Remember that Registration money will be Refunded to all people attending the event.
Do you remember how the physical meetups were ? yes, me too... And we are super happy to start again with it, to meet you all and share stories and technology.
In this fantastic opportunity we thank Ocado Technology for providing their new offices building to host the talk.
This event will talk about Test, Docker, CI, Testcontainers and you will see some Java code.
We all know about the importance of testing, we do our unit tests, we continue with our integration tests….. but in each case we are always testing isolated features and we use mocks for those things not important in those tests…..
So what about testing everything with real layers and all together ? And, even better, having that big test encapsulated in our project test suits and runnable locally and from our CI…? Here is where Testcontainers appear.
In this talk we will explain what was the experience introducing Testcontainers in a project that includes 8 external components , and how we test the whole application including network, product versions, and taking into account particular configurations on each layer involved.
This talk will be conducted by :
-
Joana Socrates : Engineering Team Lead at Ocado Technology Barcelona. Joana has a PhD in computer architecture and computer engineering and is passionate about using technology to tackle complex challenges. Originally from Brazil, she has been living in Barcelona for 11 years. Focused on excellence, Joana is continually improving her tech and leadership skills.
-
