To celebrate 30 years of Java, we are organising an OpenSpace, a participatory format, where the agenda will be created by the attendees themselves đ. There are no prepared talks or a closed programme: at the beginning of the event we will briefly explain how it works, and we will open a space for everyone to propose the topics they would like to talk about. It will be as simple as writing an idea on a post-it and placing it on a whiteboard; from there, we will form various groups around the topics that generate the most interest đ.
âDuring the OpenSpace you will be able to move freely between conversations to join the one that contributes the most to you. We trust that the discussions will be natural, dynamic and practical, because we expect them to come from us, our community â€ïž. So you might ask, what topics might come up? Topics such as the future of Java and its ecosystem, how to advance professionally or apply for a promotion, what we can do to find our first job in technology, how the job market really is, what we can do with AI, what skills are more valued nowadays or how we can improve our CV/LinkedIn/portfolio. But the best thing about the format is that, what happens, will depend on who will be there đ
âWe hope we can count on everyone, and we believe it will be a perfect opportunity đ to share experiences, learn from other people, discuss the present and future of technology and, above all, celebrate together this anniversary đ (30 years!) so significant for our community.
âLastly, we can't stop thanking Dynatrace for their support by offering us their facilities and food đ„ and drink đ§ to make the networking even easier and more enjoyable đ
âPS: We will need your ID for security purposes to enter the building
â========
