Summer Solstice Solar Event 2025

Please join the Barnard Astronomical Society (BAS) and Outdoor Chattanooga for a Summer Solstice event at Greenway Farms on Saturday June 21st from 1-4 PM. BAS members will be setting up dedicated solar telescopes to safely view the sun and providing information about our closest star. So, bring a picnic and your sunscreen for a celebration of the longest day of the year!

***Never look at the Sun without proper equipment and training! The BAS will have a variety of telescopes that are specifically configured to safely view the Sun! ***

This event is completely free and open to everyone! Family-friendly and accessible for everyone!

Like all BAS events, weather is always a consideration. We will post an update Saturday morning so check back!
