Introduction to 3D Design

Explore the basics of 3D modeling and the free tools that you can use to create your own 3D models. This will enable you to accurately model the next object you want to make. We will specifically cover designing for 3D printing.

If possible, please bring a Mac or Windows laptop with 123D Design software ( http://www.123dapp.com/design ) installed. We will have copy of the installer available at the class if you are unable to install it ahead of time.

If you do not have a laptop, you are still more than welcome to attend. We will be discussing general design principles that are applicable to many 3D design programs, as well as getting hands on practice.

You will also have the opportunity to sign up for a time to print your design on our 3D printer. More details regarding this will be available at the class.
