Join us as we learn the basics of "Onshape" drafting software and some of the design considerations for building with different materials.

Onshape is a free, powerful, and completed web based 3D creation and editing tool which supports all. It's also useful for modeling projects to build out of other materials.

In this class, we'll learn to design products for 3D printing. We'll go from project concept through the printing process. Bring an idea for a project and I will try to work it in.

By the end of this class: You will know how to use all the basic tools in Onshape to design things for 3D printing.

Prerequisites: No experience necessary, but you must be at least 10 years old!

Bring with you: A laptop, and a mouse (this program is easier to navigate with a mouse).

Cost: This class is $15. This includes 3D printing! If you would like to 3D print your item, you can do so by bringing your file on a USB during any Open Shop Time (https://www.meetup.com/BarrelofMakers/events/mmvpvlyvkbgc/) or

Art, Craft, and Hack Night. (https://www.meetup.com/BarrelofMakers/events/235437186/)

About your instructor: Taras Wallace is a Mechanical Design Engineer working in the field of hazardous detection solutions and uses 3D/CAD software everyday at work.

Next Step: A follow up class will teach 3D design for other manufacturing techniques.
