What we're about

For those navigating the pursuit of health, peace, justice, compassion and sustainability in their lives, information about “Plant Based Nutrition” provides an opportunity to explore the connection to several pathways associated with healthful living.

Scientifically supported, a “Whole Foods Plant Based” diet is the only diet ever proven to reverse some our most common chronic diseases including Heart Disease, Cancer, Diabetes, Arthritis, and Obesity to name a few.

This group hopes to create a connection with those open to learning more about the affects that our food choices make, not only for ourselves, but to explore ripple affects on others, animals and the planet.

With the recent scientifically based government document “Canada’s Food Guide”, supporting optimum health benefits with inclusion of more plants and less animal sources in our diet, this information (along with other presentations, speakers and documentaries) will assist to inspire us as we share in this journey together.

Our lead facilitators are Jim and Janet Poirier, who, after a health crisis, adopted this whole living lifestyle in 2011. Janet herself is a retired Registered Nurse and is certified in Plant Based Nutrition through Cornell University.

As recipients of the benefits they have experienced, they feel blessed and a deep desire to spread this awareness to all who are curious. Hope to see you there!

PLANT BASED NUTRITION isn’t a hard concept, but there are many concerns on a wide range of topics, including if obtaining a proper amount of nutrients is possible without animal foods. Our country has prioritized processed foods and a large amount of animal-based foods as being a part of the Standard North American diet, but it doesn’t have to be that way.

We have the ability to eat a whole foods, unprocessed diet without eating animals and obtain all the nutrients we need in the process. Wondering about where you’ll get your protein, calcium, iron, and B vitamins? No need!

Learn how to base your diet off whole foods, and how to eat a variety of vegetables, leafy greens, fruits, nuts, seeds, beans, and legumes. Jim & Janet will talk about how these foods contain a variety of nutrients that sustains anyone not eating animal-based foods and how it adds more fiber, phytonutrients, and antioxidants into your diet.

A whole foods vegan diet can give your body everything it needs, and here you can learn about some of the most common areas of concern, along with answers and information to explore, including a list of the most important nutrients you need and where to find them in a plant-based diet.

CREATING CONNECTION CANADA is a network of welcoming and inclusive communities committed to sharing in authentic conversation, promoting meaningful activities and fostering holistic wellness practices.
