Blood Donation Drive

Details

Reserve an appointment via the American Red Cross Website.
Donating blood is a selfless act of kindness that can save lives and make a difference in our community. As humanists, we believe in the value of human life and the importance of promoting human welfare. By donating blood, we can help ensure that those in need have access to safe and adequate blood supplies, whether it's for emergency transfusions, surgeries, or ongoing medical treatments.
The process of donating blood is simple and straightforward. When you arrive at the Barron Area Community Center, you will be asked to fill out a health questionnaire to ensure that you are eligible to donate. Then, a trained technician will take a small sample of your blood to check your hemoglobin levels and make sure it's safe for you to donate. If you are eligible, you will be seated comfortably and a sterile needle will be inserted into your arm to collect your blood. The whole process usually takes less than an hour, and you can relax and enjoy some snacks and beverages afterward.
If you've never donated blood before, don't worry - the technicians are trained to make sure the process is as comfortable and painless as possible. Plus, you'll feel great knowing that you're doing something positive for others.
To donate blood, you must be at least 16 years old (with parental consent if you're under 18), weigh at least 110 pounds, and be in generally good health. If you have any questions about your eligibility or the donation process, feel free to contact us or visit the American Red Cross website for more information.
