Trail Highlights
- Spyglass Trailhead (Mile 0)
• Access point tucked off Spyglass Drive, with Taco Deli nearby for a snack before or after. The trail quickly descends into the shaded Barton Creek Greenbelt.
- Creekside Path (Miles 0.5–2)
• The route follows Barton Creek, which flows after rains. You’ll see smooth limestone beds, fossil imprints, and shaded stretches of oak and juniper.
- Cliffs & Climbing Walls (Approx. Mile 1.5)
• Look for the Seismic Wall, a limestone cliff popular with local rock climbers. This area adds dramatic scenery to the forested trail.
- Campbell’s Hole (Approx. Mile 2.5)
• A natural swimming hole along Barton Creek, perfect for a rest stop. In wet months, it’s a local favorite for wading and swimming.
- Approaching Zilker (Mile 3–3.5)
• The trail opens up as you near Zilker Park, with glimpses of downtown Austin’s skyline. You’ll emerge near Barton Springs Pool and the Zilker Park lawns, where open fields, picnic spots, and Austin energy replace the quiet seclusion of the Greenbelt
