LoLa Jam Session

Who We Are
We are the LoLa Jam – a community of music lovers
Brought together by a shared passion for music, we organize public jam sessions twice a month. Everyone is welcome to join, no matter whether you're a musician, singer, or just love listening to live music.
Our first jam took place in October in 2024 @ the LoLa Quartierstreff and we have grown rapidly ever since. 

Meet the Organizing Team
A team of five dedicated music enthusiasts keep the sessions running smoothly:

  • Jenny     hosts the jam sessions every first Sunday of the month,
  • Ralf     hosts the jam sessions every third Sunday of each month,
  • Elaine is     our hospitality manager, taking care of the bar, song requests, and
  • Jan and  Carlos help manage our continuous jam songbook and check your song requests together with
  • Christoph, who manages the new songs.
    You provide the sound and we create the framework!

Our Jams
Whether you're a musician, singer, or just love listening to live music - everyone is welcome!  We play and sing well-known pop, rock, soul, folk, reggae, country, and indie songs.

Want to help?
The LoLa Jam thrives thanks to the energy and support of our community.There are plenty of ways to get involved!
We’re always looking for helping hands to:

  • Support at the bar during the jam sessions
  • Set up the equipment before and after each event

Our events are free of charge, but donations are greatly appreciated. We invest donations in running the jams, such as printing copies for the songbooks.
In addition, every now and then workshops are being offered by members of our community. If you hold expertise in music-related topics and want to give a workshop, feel free to contact us.

Are you passionate about singing and/or playing music in an intimate, unplugged setting? Look no further! The Basel Jam Sessions Group is a vibrant community of music lovers who come together to celebrate the magic of acoustic sounds.

What We’re About:

  • Genre: Our heart beats to the rhythm of pop and rock covers.
  • Open for suggestions: Bring your favourite songs, we use Ultimate Guitar and a songbook
  • No Jazz or Blues: We’re charting a different course as there are already a lot of groups for that.

  • Nature’s Stage: Our sessions unfold under the open sky, surrounded by the beauty of Basel’s green spaces.
