Please tune in at 9 am this morning (Tuesday May 25) for the DC City Council hearing about reducing wealth and income inequality. Universal basic income, guaranteed income, baby bonds and tax revenue policy will be discussed.
Witnesses include Elaine Maag, Principal Research Associate, Urban Institute; Madeline Neighly, Director, Economic Security Project; George Jones, Executive Director, Bread for the City; and Melody Webb, Founder and President, Mother’s Outreach Network.
The hearing will run from 9am to 1pm. We expect the UBI panel to start at 10 am, and we encourage you to watch as much of the entire hearing event as you can. Here’s the information to join:
