Details

I realise that this is short notice but I noticed the tides fall well this Wednesday (23rd) which sometimes increases the chances of seeing birds from the three hides. Also Autumn migration has started so there is a reasonable chance of seeing birds like Wheatears and Whinchats. Other possibilities include water voles and hares although not the best time of day or year for them. It is about 800m walk to the first hide and then another 300m or so to the next ones. A walk back via the Sea Wall makes a long trip of about 2 miles but there is a pub if you go that way. If you stayed till early evening (after a break in the pub?) you might see a barn owl. Note the weather could be hot so bring plenty of refreshments, no facilities!

Be careful turning right into Fambridge road it is on a blind bend. Also about 800m after the railway and station the turning is down a track which is a sharp left turn on a right angled bend (has EWLT Blue board sign) and easy to miss.
