Basingstoke language meetup - for people who love languages!

This group is for people who enjoy learning languages and developing their language skills! Maybe you speak a language other than English and you want to share it with others. Maybe you've decided to learn another language because it's your hobby or you have friends/family members who speak it. Maybe you use another language at work. Maybe you want to understand books or series in their original language.

Whatever the reason, I've created this group to bring people who love languages together so that they can find new friends, practise with conversation partners, and learn something new!

All language combinations are welcome!

I will organise both online and face-to-face meetings. They are not a course - they're a way to meet like-minded people, share tips, learn from one another, and hopefully also to find some new local friends!

At first we will have meetings in English, but I may also add language-specific meetings in my additional languages. There's also the option to carry on the conversations outside the meetings if you find people with whom you'd like to have an independent language exchange.

Who is Kirsty?
I work as an independent English language trainer, mainly for freelancers and small business owners. I'm also the host of the English with Kirsty podcast. My passion for languages started at school and it has continued on through my adult life. Some languages have come and gone over the years, but my focus is now on German, Romanian, and Portuguese.

One of my biggest challenges as a learner is finding the confidence to speak. In addition to classes, having genuine reasons to speak with real people has been an invaluable help to me. Now I'd like to create a local space where we can share our interest in languages and help each other at the same time.
