2 Day Hike Schynige Platte - Faulhorn - First

This is a two day but easy hike in the Alps.

We take the train from Basel SBB at 06:45 to Interlaken Ost then the 09:04 Train to Wilderswil and the cog railway at 09:25 to Schynige Platte where we will arrive at 10:17.

After about three hours, we will arrive at Berghaus Männdlenen, where we can eat lunch. An hour later, we will arrive at Faulhorn, where we will stay for the night. Walking time total is four hours. 960 meters up, 11 km.

The second day, we have a short, 2 hours walk to First, (down 500 meters, 6 km) where we can take the cable car to Grindelwald. An other option is to walk down to Grindelwald, which is further 1'300 meters down and additional 13 km), a total of 5.5 hours.

Why start on a Friday? The Faulhorn gets booked early. For July 12th, it is already full. You need to make your own reservation.

For the 11th, there are still 36 beds available in the dormitory .
