Short hike and visit of mine

Lets take the 0830 train form Basel SBB, track 19 to Gelterkinden and from there the 0902 Bus 102 to Kienberg.

From there we walk east for around 10 k, up 300, down 450.

It is an easy hike, mostly over open fields. Before we reach Herznach, we can visit the mine. Entry is CHF 10.00 pp. More information in German here.

The mine is open from 1300 - 1700. Food can be bought.

I have never been there. There is a train, I don't know how long, and children can try to find fossils.
