Short hike Oltingen - Sommerau

Lets take the 0841 Train to Gelterkinden, switch to the Bus 103 0910 to Oltingen Postplatz and arrive at 0927.

From there we follow the Baselbieter Chriesiweg which for the first part goes over open fields, then through the forest valley Giessen towards Sommerau, from where we take the train back to Basel.

The hike is 10.4 km, 266 m up, 389 down. About three hours, plus breaks plus transport.

It should be warm, even hot, bring sunscreen. Good shoes and hiking poles plus food and drinks.
