Hike Büsserach - Grellingen
Details
Lets take the 1038 train from Basel SBB, track 16 to Zwingen. Switch there to the 1107 bus 115 to Büsserach, Alte Mühle, arriving at 1119.
After a 15 minutes walk, we arrive at Schloss Thierstein, which is open to be visited. After a visit, we continue east, up the hill with one ladder to be climed.
We continue for a three hours and arrive at Restaurant Meltingerberg, where we can have some food.
I know this is not optimal timewise, but the castle opens at 1130, so I had to push the start to this later time.
Half an hour later, at 11 km, we arrive in Meltingen, from where you could take the bus home or continue.
South, along the Ibach, downhill the beautiful Chaltbrunnental with many caves (bring a torch if you like) and then east towards Grellingen.
Total length is 19.6 km, 800 up, 900 down. Mostly in forest, maybe 20 percent open fields.
