Kelston Skyline Walk & Animal Farm Visit
Details
The route starts from the car park of the Old Crown Inn, Kelston Village.
The route takes in Kelston village, North Stoke village, Little Down Fort, Pillow Mound, Bath Racecourse, Prospect Stile, Kelston Roundhill using the Cotswold Way and public footpaths / rights of way.
The c.20 mile panoramic views west, south and east take in the Severn bridges, the Mendips, Westbury White Horse and many parts of Bath, Bristol and Wales.

The Old Crown Inn has:
A garden, with heated enclosed area including log burner and sheepskin covered easy chairs.

Distance:
About 7 miles, undulating with two relatively easy climbs.
We stop occasionally to admire the scenic views.
Start:
The Old Crown Inn, Kelston Road, Kelston, BA1 9AQ.
Route:
Exit the pub car park.
West along Kelston Road to Mill Farm Barn turning right to follow unnamed lane to track just before Coombe Barn.
Up the track to join the old sheep trail turning west to North Stoke village.
Through village turning eastwards along track / Cotswold Way to Little Down Fort and Pillow Mound.
Continue on Cotswolds Way, west of Bath Racecourse, to Prospect Stile and Kelston Roundhill.
Continue on Cotswold Way towards Pendean Farm turning west over stiles, through fields, following footpath to Kelston village.
Turn off A431 down unnamed lane to Top Cat Hotel, continue on footpath to Park Farm.
Exit along Blacksmith’s Lane to the Old Crown Inn.
Finish:
The Old Crown Inn, Kelston Road, Kelston for the "debrief", drink and socialise, MORE fun, dogs allowed.

Please wear walking boots as the ground is uneven and may be muddy in places.

Dogs are more than welcome and can be free to play for much of the walk BUT need to be under control in a few places.

Cancellation / postponement / changes:
If the weather forecast is rain, or extremely hot, the walk will be cancelled before 11pm. CHECK the event page before you set off; you should also receive an email with details.
Guests:
Members should not bring guests / plus ones on walk events.
