Welcome to Bath Spa Toastmasters 🎤

Would you like to feel more confident speaking in Front of others, communicate your ideas more clearly or simply get better at thinking on your feet?

Bath Spa Toastmasters is a friendly, supportive public speaking and communication club in central Bath. We meet on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month, and guests are always very welcome.

You don’t need any public speaking experience — and there’s no pressure to speak on your first visit. Come along, meet the members, see how a meeting works and decide whether Toastmasters might be right for you.

What happens at a meeting?
Every meeting is a little different, but you can expect a lively mixture of:

🎤 Prepared speeches — members practise speaking and presenting
💬 Table Topics — short, fun impromptu speaking challenges
👂 Constructive evaluations — supportive feedback to help speakers improve
🤝 Meeting roles — opportunities to develop communication and leadership skills
😊 Plenty of conversation and encouragement — we’re a sociable bunch too!

Toastmasters is about much more than giving speeches. Members use the club to become more confident presenting at work, contribute more effectively in meetings, prepare for important occasions, improve leadership skills or simply challenge themselves to try something new.

Your first visit
There is nothing to prepare and no obligation to take part.

You’re very welcome simply to sit back, watch and get a feel for the club. If you would like to join in with an impromptu speaking activity, you can — but the choice is entirely yours.

Chances are you won’t be the only new face either.

When and where?
📍 The Salvation Army, Bath Citadel, Green Park Road, Bath, BA1 1XE

🕖 Arrive from 7:15pm for a 7:30pm start
🕤 We finish by approximately 9:30pm
📅 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month

A typical evening
7:15 — Doors open, meet & greet
7:30 — Welcome and introductions
7:35 — Prepared speeches
8:20 — Speaker evaluations and feedback
8:30 — Break
8:50 — Table Topics — impromptu speaking
9:10 — Evaluations and feedback
9:25 — Awards and announcements
9:30 — Meeting closes

Some members usually continue the conversation over a drink nearby afterwards — guests are very welcome to join us.
