Wolf supermoon - January full moon sunset hike/walk/arcade (weather dependent)
Details
New year, new me! Let's hike Mission Peak to get a nice look at the last of 4 consecutive super moons. A supermoon is when the moon is very close to the Earth, so this should be a good night!
However, we're getting rain now and it's hard to predict what the weather will be like weeks in advance, so we may end up not hiking and doing something else. Tentatively, if it
- is dry a couple days before and not raining Saturday: hike Mission Peak
- is raining a couple days before but not raining Saturday: walk Alviso
- is raining Saturday: board games/arcade/pool/hang out at Big Al's
- is snowing Saturday: hike Mission Peak π
For an idea of what
- the Mission Peak hike will be like, look at this
- Alviso walk will be like, take a look at this
- board games/arcade/pool/hang out at Big Al's will be like, look at this
Sunset is around 5:01 (https://www.timeanddate.com/sun/@5373693?month=1&year=2026) and moonrise is 5:28 (https://www.timeanddate.com/moon/@5373693?month=1&year=2026).
I'll update the description with more details as we get closer to the full moon and the weather forecast is better. We'll likely also get dinner/dessert after, so join us for that too!
In any case, come out and join us for a fun start to your new year!
