All Poetry & All Women are Welcomed!
PLEASE NOTE:

This event will be moved to the THIRD FRIDAY of the month, Friday, May 15th, 2026, because Mother's Day falls on Sunday, May 10th, 2026.

WOMEN of ALL AGES, ethnicities, traditions, faiths (or no faith at all), careers, life paths, etc. are invited to join us.

Unfortunately, this is an event for Women ONLY.

QUICK LOOK:

Join us, women *(*only women), for an enchanting evening of poetry as we celebrate the power of words and the beauty of voices. The Multicultural Women's Poetry Group is excited to host this event, where we join to share extraordinary creations from our favorite poets and our own poetic creations. From thought-provoking pieces or heart-warming verses, this evening promises to be a captivating journey into the world of poetry.

Whether as a woman, you think yourself a poet, an aspiring writer, love the poetry you read, or simply love the spoken word, our 2nd Friday Women's Poetry Night offers an open and inclusive space for all women to express themselves. We encourage attendees to participate by reading from their own poetry or reciting works by their favorite poets. This is an incredible opportunity to connect with like-minded women, immerse yourself in the world of poetry, and support the immense talent within our community.

Join us as we uplift and empower women through the universal language of poetry.

IT'S IN THE DETAILS

What to bring:

BRING any poetry you would like to share aloud. This month, we have a suggested theme, which is just an invitation and not a requirement; any poetry may be shared. All Women are free to bring their own non-alcoholic beverage or snack. The group voted not to provide these items, but each could bring their own.

Inspiration:

The WOMEN in this group have agreed that we will post poetry writing prompts for the month that may inspire your first poem or your billionth poem. Poetry that is funny, based on true stories, word play, emotional, dim or bright, rhyming or not, long or short…. Give it a go.

Our Theme this month:

Your Place of Peace

What we will do:

Each woman who wishes can share their selection and any thoughts about their pieces, such as why they like them or what inspired them. Then, we will open it up for supportive discussion from the “I” & “and” perspectives.

Each gal can share, and we would like to respect everyone's time so that everyone who wishes can speak.

What to share in the discussion:

Anything you feel comfortable sharing. These could be the feelings, meanings, or questions that arise for you. It could be the reason you resonate with a piece, such as a personal experience or memory. Also, you may have insights into the writing, such as the historical context of its composition, the author, or other interesting details.

The goal is to have an engaging, supportive discussion amongst other women interested in poetry. This is not a critique environment. All discussions are intended to explore how the art shared during the event makes us feel and to provide support and encouragement to all of our authors who wish to breathe life into the words they have shared as a gift to our ears.

So glad you found us! Looking forward to hearing your poetry readings and interpretations.

Smiles,
Michelle Lee W.
