Summer is coming.

Have you decided your Memorial day long weekend plan yet? Do you want to make friends in this early summer music festival, to get ready for another summer?

The Boogie music festival, held in the weekend before Memorial Day, could be one of south bay's longest civic festivals. It started in 1978 to celebrate the fruit growing industry of then Campbell, (yes, the Prune Yard is a real prune yard), then gradually became today's music festival.

The festival draws about 20-30k each year, 5 stages of live entertainment, food, drinks etc., with line dancing, costume contests, and a Battle of the Bands on Sunday. Voted one of the South Bay's Best Festivals.

As usual, two tracks to attend the event:
1. Festival Volunteering:

You must register using the above link to act as a volunteer, the benefits include Free T-shirt, one free drink ticket, sandwich lunch, and a volunteer appreciation party later on. The suggestion is to stay off the tear down shift if you are not a veteran.

2. Festival Social:
Meet at 12:00–12:30, walk the festival perimeter together, play the TownFlame social chain game along the way to meet each other, then split into small groups to explore the festival treasure-hunt style. Regroup after one hour to compare notes. After that, drift wherever the music takes you.
Volunteers welcome to join the social portion before or after their shift.

Date: May 16 Sat.
Location: Starbucks, Campbell downtown
Schedule (social track)

  • 12:00–12:30 — Get to know each other
  • 12:30–1:00 — Walk the perimeter together, social chain game
  • 1:00–2:00 — Small group exploration inside the festival — five stages, 100+ booths, plenty to discover
2:00 — Regroup, share what we found, then open afternoon, enjoy the festival.
5:30pm For volunteers whose shifts are in the afternoon, we do group dinner after shift ends at 5pm.

Note:
The host will be sitting at the volunteer check-in table upon entering through first street. Find there if not at the Starbucks.
And we use WhatsApp for real time in festival communication. So post to the channel is you are lost.
