Details

This meetup is for anyone who is just starting out with crochet, learning the basics, or looking for a relaxed space to hone their skills alongside others. Experienced crocheters are welcome to join, but please note that the core focus of this meetup is supporting beginners!

Meetup Format

"Office Hours" / Study Hall Style: This is an informal style help session rather than a structured step-by-step lecture. Bring whatever project you are working on, ask questions, get help, or just crochet together!

What to Bring

Bring your own supplies: Please bring your own hooks, yarn, and materials.

  • Yarn
  • Crochet hooks
  • Stitch markers
  • Scissors
  • Tapestry Needle

Crochet kits are a great way to start if you don't have individual supplies yet.

Where to buy:

  • Beginner crochet kits ($10–30) are available at Barnes & Noble and some bookstores (support local!)
  • Yarns, hooks, and starter kits are available at Michael's, Daiso, online, or local craft stores (support local!)

Community Supplies: A limited amount of spare yarn and extra tools may be available at the event, as I have spare material. If you’re a seasoned crocheter with surplus materials or spare hooks you'd like to share or swap, feel free to bring them along!

Beginner-Friendly Free Project Ideas to Try
If you don't have a project in mind yet, here are some simple patterns you can try, and we can help you work through:

  • 3D Ball (Amigurumi Base)
  • Coaster or Washcloth
  • Granny Squares

Whether you're holding a hook for the very first time or looking for a cozy space to practice, we'd love to have you!
