What is Aromanticism? - a podcast conversation in the South Bay

Details
We’re gathering at Olympus Caffe and Bakery* in Mountain View for a casual 2 hour-ish conversation guided by the episode “What is Aromanticism?” from the podcast Sounds Fake But Okay. It’s hosted by a biro-demi and Aroace duo and has been running for an impressive 7 years—so yeah, they know a thing or two!
Episode 171 dives into nuances of aromanticism, starting with what it is and weaving through personal experiences and common challenges. Whether you’re new to the concept or have pondered it a bunch, this will be engaging.
🫂 Feel free to bring a aro or non-pro friend: anyone curious about what aromanticism means, how it shows up in real life, and why it matters.
📱 You can find the podcast on about a zillion streaming platforms, or just listen in your browser (link’s up top). (A zillion is mathematically defined as 1x10^(alot). I asked.)
🎶 Try to give it a listen beforehand, but if life gets in the way—show up anyway. Your perspectives and experiences are a welcome addition
🍽 Afterwards, some of us will head to a nearby spot for a bite or stay to enjoy Olympus' menu
*Olympus is just a few hundred feet from the Caltrain station. In the unlikely event the weather is meh (too cool or windy) we will relocate to another good group meeting spot at Red Rock Coffee a block SW. So check an hour ahead of time.
