Kayaking in Elk Horn Slough (Moss Landing) and Parking Lot Lunch

Details

Hey Singles!
Please join me for a day of kayaking in Elkhorn Slough! I kayak here a few times each summer and it's a unique and exciting experience every time. I know you're going to love it!

About kayaking in Elkhorn Slough:
Elkhorn Slough is generally shallow water and full of sea life. We'll see plenty of sea otters (and maybe some babies), lots of birds and sometimes lots of jelly fish. The water in the slough is relatively calm - more like a slow moving river. We'll be on the water by 9:30ish and come back in around 1 - 1:30pm. Coming back in, we'll likely be paddling against a bit of wind, and it can sometimes be a workout, so be ready for that. In total, we'll be on the water between 3-4 hours. Then we'll have a casual parking lot lunch (bring your own) before we head home. I'll bring cooler for anything that needs to stay cold, and bottled water for everyone.

Parking: I believe parking is $10 per vehicle.
Attire: A life jacket will be provided for you. I usually wear a lightweight jacket and shorts, with a tank top underneath. Wear some sort of water shoes or flip flops. You will get wet and sandy, so bring a towel and dry clothing for the drive home.
Kayaks: There are multiple options but I recommend the following:

  • Singles: Single sit-on-top kayak which costs $48 per person.
  • Doubles: Double sit-on-top (two seater) kayaks cost $38 per person.
  • BYOK: You are welcome to bring your own kayak (there's no cost to launch)

Need a kayak buddy? If you would like to share a kayak, but don't have anyone to partner with, let me know and I'll connect you with someone.
What to bring: Hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, a snack, towel and dry clothing for the drive home. a Ziplock bag or "dry bag" for your keys, cell phone, snacks, AND bring your lunch!!
Food: You'll definitey need snack while we're on the water - don't skip this. And, bring your lunch for afterwards.
