What we’re about
Bay Area Beginner Snowshoe & Uphill Hiking is a relaxed winter hiking group for adults (ideally 30+) who are new to winter hiking, snowshoeing, or uphill routes. We’re all beginners here, learning together as we explore the stunning snowy mountains around Tahoe and other California peaks. Our goal is to build skills, confidence, and friendships in a supportive, laid-back atmosphere.
We focus on beginner-friendly winter hikes and snowshoe outings, like Mt. Tallac, Donner Summit, and other accessible peaks in the Tahoe region and beyond. We use basic gear (snowshoes, microspikes, poles, and winter boots) and keep a slow, easy pace with plenty of breaks to enjoy the scenery and connect with each other.
Whether you're just starting out or you've hiked a bit in winter conditions and want to take it slower, you'll fit right in. Our group is about steady progress, having fun, and building a solid foundation for future winter adventures.
