Short Hike to Devil's Slide, followed by a picnic on the beach

This trek offers history, nature, and maybe even mermaids! (As long as you keep your eyes peeled)
We are going to be walking down the abandoned Highway 1- a wide open road directly on the Pacific coast that was closed permanently in 2014 and converted into the coolest walking trail in the whole damn Bay area! We'll make our way to Devil's slide and explore the Old Devil's Slide bunker (a former lookout point from World War 2).
The trail is about 1.3 miles each way, so about 2.6 miles total. Very beginner-friendly way to get some fresh air and see breathtaking coastal views.
After we hike....we picnic! We'll head over to Pacifica state beach and those of us who are brave enough will eat from the famous Taco Bell beach cantina. For everyone else, I will be bringing picnic snacks and playing cards Picnic contributions and blankets encouraged :)
